How It All Started

Jill Chandler-Fisher, the inventor, was challenged over a decade ago in finding a solution to the frustrating day at the beach/pool/gym process: essentials of oil, cell, keys, cash, book, leash, water, towel…and then “something” to carry it all in.

The story begins…….

 “Something”….. so that when I was in the pool, walking the beach or just on the move -  that can keep all my belongings secure. There is always the worry as to what to keep your ring, watch, cash or keys in, or try to “bury” under towel to keep safe while wandering. If chosen to spread stuff on the sand, grass or drape the lounge chair, how do you keep everything safe from theft yet accessible and always in tact when you need to shake sand off or use the towel?

Not having a single gene from Betsy Ross, I gathered a couple really nice, big towels, a “washcloth”, a nylon zipper to withstand sand & salt, the inflatable pillow-thing from the frou-frou bath set Mom gave me for my birthday, removed the two nylon web straps from my old, two timing boyfriends favorite gym bag…and began to think about a solution…

Voila..The Chameleon Towel Tote.

Due to the unique “operation” of the towel becoming the tote, and the tote becoming the towel, the process of registering and obtaining a US Utility Patent began as well as the naming of the product “Chameleon”.
